How to build yourself

SSRs and dumploads

Calculate how many SSRs and dumploads you need for your configuration:
The total power of the dumpload must be at least 120% - 130% (safety margin, in case dump loads fail) of the total power of your system, if you don't have a water valve.

If you have a water valve, the total power of the dump loads should be at least double the size of your biggest expected user load. E.G. if you have a 10kW user load, your combined dumploads should be at least 20kW.

Electronic components

Make sure you can source all of the components, including the PCB

Options how to get the PCB

- Etch yourself  - google for information, I am not an expert in this
- Send the Gerber rs-247x file and the drilling file to a pcb manufacturer.
I use http://www.pcb-devboards.de/catalog/index.php?language=en
- order from me, if you don't want the hassle of dealing with gerber files

Buy components
Solder everything together
Program chip - or get from me

Install at the hydro power site

Tune the PI controller

Future development: implement an Auto-Tuning function, so there will be no on-Site experiments necessary
