negative half-waves can't be left away for the measurement, because the the negative power always occurs while the voltage wave has opposite polarity to the current wave. So with only positive half-waves, only the positive parts of the current power can be measured.

Except if you put these positive parts in relation to the total current and so mathematically reconstruct the missing wave parts.
In other words: measure the phase shift.
zero positive parts means 180 deg phase shift
50% positive parts means 0 deg phase shift
probably a sine function -> figure out if calculating is easier or moving up the null point with a voltage divider and a decoupling capacitor
one could also measure the phase shift with zero crossing detection.
